Fiona Wylde Finishes 2nd At M2O Race On Ace Foil

Starboard Team Rider Fiona Wylde took on the iconic Molokai2Oahu challenge, riding latest fast the Ace Foil board. Fiona finished an impressive second place crossing the finish line just behind legendary local paddler Annie Starr, a remarkable achievement in the face of unpredictable ocean conditions.

The 25th anniversary Molokaʻi 2 Oʻahu Paddleboard World Championships (M2O) kicked off its race weekends with SUP and wing foil races. Presented by the Hawaiʻi Tourism Authority, 130 international athletes competed over the 40-mile Kaiwi Channel course from Moloka’i to O’ahu.
Fiona Wylde attended this event for the first time and secured 2nd place in the downwind race held on July 21, 2024, using the Starboard Ace Foil and Lima Paddle.

«My decision to compete in this event was very last minute, so I am pleased with my ability to perform. Most of all, it was an absolute adventure being out there in big ocean swells. I loved it!

There were many challenges including, riding a foil first the first time and low blood sugar moments, but there were also many superb moments, like taking off from one island and not being able to see the next island, catching up to 1st place at one point during the race, and sharing the channel with my best friends on the support boat.

This race to me was less about competing, but more about the adventure. I loved being out there and seeing the ocean do its thing.

I used the 8’2 x 18” Ace Foil (thanks to Trevor Gregson for giving it to me last minute) and Starboard SUP Lima paddle.»
